Rehab

I was notified first thing this morning that Richard got into FINR. (Florida Institute for Neurological Rehabilitation) :) I drove down to the hospital and hung out until the ambulance got there to transport him. His new home is in Wauchula, FL. He says he's excited to go to his new home but he's not sure why its necessary because he's all better now. The family is excited about this step towards recovery. He was very confused all morning, saying bizarre things and again, Im Frank today. As he rolled down the hallway past all the nurses, he waved and was yelling "Bye everyone, I love you all!" It was cute. Once we were in the elevator, he began counting from one (thats the floor we were going to) and kept counting slowly. When they put him in the ambulance he was up to 32 and still counting. Not sure why, but atleast he knows his numbers today. Once he gets settled in to FINR, anyone is welcome to visit.
So then I went and hung with Christie. She was up in the chair and we watched Ellen together then Maury Povich. Not sure if she likes those shows. I left for a minute and when I returned she was having physical therapy. Then they put here back in bed. She seemed very tired after all that moving around so I'll let her sleep.
Hope to see everyone on Sunday at the fundraiser!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aaron and I were at the hospital today. I took some pictures of Christy. I am sending them to Becky. If you would like them Janet, I can forward them to you as well. Please let me know. My email address is

When I was there today, she squeezed my hand a couple of times, and yawned a fairly good size yawn. I called Becky and held the phone for her to talk to Christy. I will be going back to the hospital on Saturday.

Aaron, what a handsome young man you are. Thank you, Paula for letting Becky talk to her baby girl. We are doing all we can to get her home. Of course if y'all are ever in SC you're welcome to come and visit her. You could even stay with us and Becky.
Becky is almost a basket case. I'm sending you a copy of the poem I wrote for Christie.

Please Help Bring Christie Home

A beautiful little teenage girl
lying in a hospital bed.
Only fifteen years into her life
it's a miracle she's not dead.
She was so vibrant, like a ray of sun.
But now she's in a coma before her life has even begun.
She loves horses and feeding birds,
rescuing turtles
and jumping hurdles.
She loves to laugh and she really loves to run.
Christie is so full of life, and her life is filled with fun.
Now we're praying for a miracle that only God can do.
For now her laughter is silenced, and God we're begging you.
The part of her brain that they removed,
We ask You to replace.
Let Christie run once again
and help her win life's race.
You made the brain in question
before the dawn of time.
And I ask you now will all my heart,
To heal this grandchild of mine.

Mary Hudson.
